"The Transporters" is a computerized training program for emotion recognition developed by Simon Baron-Cohen, director of "Autism Research Center" in Cambridge. It was developed specifically for children with ASD aged 2 to 8 years. The concept is clear : improve recognition of facial expressions and emotions through attractive tools for children and adapted to characteristics oh this disorder. Learning should be more easily transferable to daily life. Then, the theme of vehicles, often popular with children, has been associated with emotions. Those were personified by face disposed on the front. Little stories of daily life are played by these vehicles in environment with the least possible distractors. At the end of each story, the child has to identify, on the basis of facial expression, the corresponding emotion. This program is available on DVD in two versions (professionals vs. parents).
